Most parents spend years sitting in dance competition audiences filming their children.
This group decided to do something slightly different…
They got on stage themselves.
And ended up winning a national medal.

Urban Dance…But for Adults
What began with parents accompanying their children to competitions slowly evolved into something bigger.
More families joined.
Then friends.
Then people who simply wanted to dance.
Now the group includes people from all walks of life:
👩⚕️ Doctors
👨🏫 Teachers
👷 Crane operators
🏗 Architects
👩💼 Business owners
All meeting weekly to dance styles including:
🎵 Hip hop
🕺 Locking
🔥 Trap
🌍 Afro
🤸 Breakdance
Proving that urban dance isn’t reserved for teenagers in oversized hoodies.
“I’m Living a Second Youth”
Many members described the experience as life-changing.
At 61, Carlos Rosales said dance became an escape from daily worries:
💬 “I feel free… I never imagined dancing at my age. It keeps me physically and emotionally fit.”
José Conde, aged 50, described the experience simply:
💬 “I’m living a second youth.”
And honestly…that line probably sums up the whole story.
More Than Competition
Several dancers highlighted that the real reward wasn’t the medal itself.
It was:
🤝 Shared experiences
💃 Dancing with their children
😂 Laughing through rehearsals
❤️ Building friendships
One member put it perfectly:
💬 “What matters is the journey: rehearsing, enjoying and sharing experiences.”
Weekly Therapy…With Better Music
For many, dance became more than a hobby.
Some called it therapy.
Others said it helped them reconnect with themselves after years away from music and movement.
And apparently nobody minded sacrificing Friday evenings for rehearsals.
Which says a lot.
Worth Knowing
There’s something quietly brilliant about this story.
No talk of age limits.
No “you’re too old”.
Just people deciding to try something new and ending up third in Spain.
Fair play to them.
