If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, there’s a good chance you know at least a handful of UB40 songs…even if you don’t think you do.
From Red Red Wine to Kingston Town and (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love With You, the Birmingham band has spent more than four decades producing the sort of songs that instantly transport you back to another time.
Now they’re heading back to Tenerife for what promises to be one of the island’s standout concerts of the summer.
Live at the Palmetum on 1st August
UB40, fronted by Ali Campbell, will perform at the Palmetum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Saturday 1st August, as part of their 2026 European tour.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 6.30pm, with the Palmetum once again providing one of the most distinctive outdoor music venues on the island.
Perched above the Atlantic, the botanical gardens have become a popular setting for live events, offering spectacular views alongside an intimate concert atmosphere.
More than 40 years of hits
Formed in Birmingham in 1978, UB40 quickly became one of Britain’s biggest musical exports, blending reggae, pop and soul into a sound that has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
Named after the UK’s unemployment benefit form, the band first made its mark with socially conscious songs before becoming international chart stars.
Fans can expect to hear classics including Red Red Wine, Kingston Town, One in Ten, Food for Thought, Cherry Oh Baby and (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love With You, alongside other favourites from the band’s extensive catalogue.

Tickets for the Tenerife concert are available through Tomaticket, with organisers encouraging fans to book early due to the band’s enduring popularity.
While the tour also includes a performance in Gran Canaria the previous evening, it’s the Santa Cruz show that’s likely to attract reggae fans from across Tenerife looking for an evening of familiar songs and summer atmosphere.
