There are breakfast places where you grab a coffee and a croissant, and then there are places like La Boulangerie in Costa Adeje, where breakfast can turn into a fairly serious meal.
The café has been getting plenty of attention for its artisan products, gourmet sandwiches and generous brunch options.
Food creator @elsiciliano_tenerife recently visited and gave it a strong recommendation for anyone looking for a decent brunch in the south.
And there’s a good reason for that.
33 gourmet sandwiches to choose from
La Boulangerie offers an impressive 33 gourmet sandwiches, all made with sourdough bread.
There are some fairly interesting combinations on the menu too.
One highlighted option uses sourdough cornbread with homemade roast beef, mustard and pickles.
Another combines chocolate and orange sourdough with cheek, Brie and apple compote.
Not exactly your standard cheese and ham sandwich.
The Boulangerie for 2
If you’re hungry, the Boulangerie for 2 is probably the one to look at.
It costs €41.10 for two people and includes:
- Two natural juices
- Two coffees
- Two gourmet sandwiches
- Two yoghurt bowls with fruit
- A Nutella and strawberry waffle to share
It’s a pretty substantial breakfast, so arriving hungry would be sensible. Turning up after a three-course dinner the night before might be less clever.
You can also add organic honeycomb if you’re one of those people who thinks yoghurt isn’t quite complete without honey.
Where to find La Boulangerie
La Boulangerie is at Residencial El Naranjal, local 2, Calle El Sauce, 3, Costa Adeje.
It currently has a 4.8-star rating on Google, based on customer reviews.
It’s open every day from 7:30am to 2:00pm, making it particularly suited to an early breakfast or leisurely brunch before heading off to enjoy the rest of the day.
If you’re in Costa Adeje and fancy something a little more interesting than the usual hotel breakfast buffet, this one looks worth a try.
