The Tenerife Guachinche Serving Traditional Canarian Food with Views Over Nature

Finding a good guachinche in Tenerife isn’t difficult.

Finding one with proper views, a terrace overlooking the barranco and cabrito on the menu…that narrows things down a bit.

Guachinche Tony y Virginia in La Victoria de Acentejo

📍 Guachinche Tony y Virginia
📍 Calle Tagoro, 98 — La Victoria de Acentejo

This spot has become a favourite for people looking for:

🍷 Traditional Canarian food
🌿 Countryside views
🏞 A quieter setting away from the usual rush

And yes…the terrace looks out over the ravine and green hillsides.

Not exactly a bad lunch backdrop.

The Dish That Surprised Everyone? The Cabrito

One dish stood out straight away:

🐐 Cabrito

Not something you see in every guachinche these days.

Visitors described it as:

✔ Juicy
✔ Full of flavour
✔ One of the highlights of the meal

Apparently one of those dishes you order out of curiosity and end up talking about afterwards.

Proper Canarian Classics Too

The meal started with:

🧀 Fresh cheese with quince and olives

Then moved onto:

🥣 Cod chickpeas (garbanzas de bacalao)

A slightly different take from the usual meat version.

Fish, Grill and Desserts

More dishes followed including:

🐟 Cherne with sweet potato

Although the sweet potato apparently arrived looking closer to half a yam…

🥩 Grilled steak (chuleta) also made an appearance from the barbecue menu.

And because Tenerife lunches rarely end quickly:

🍮 Quesillo
☕ Coffee cake
🍫 Maltesers cake

Finished things off.

No complaints there.

Terrace Dining with Barranco Views

One of the biggest draws is the covered terrace.

You get:

🌿 Green views
🏞 Barranco scenery
🍷 Traditional food

Which is basically the Tenerife guachinche formula when it works well.

Opening Hours

🕛 Wednesday to Friday: 12:00 – 22:00
🕘 Saturday: until 21:00
🍽 Sunday lunch only: until 17:30

Closed earlier than some places…probably sensible after sixty plates of grilled meat.

Worth Knowing

There are guachinches you visit for the food.

Others for the setting.

This one seems to have quietly managed both.
