Tenerife Opera’s Le nozze di Figaro Sells Out Ahead of Final Performance

Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro has been drawing full houses at Auditorio de Tenerife, with the latest performance selling out and just one more chance to catch the production this Saturday.

The opera brings the familiar romantic complications of Figaro and Susanna’s wedding to the stage, with plenty of jealousy, disguises and palace intrigue along the way. There’s also a sharper edge to the story, as Mozart explores class divisions and challenges the privileges enjoyed by the aristocracy.

A strong cast brings Mozart to life

Conductor Pablo González led the musical performance, with soprano Leonor Bonilla as Susanna and baritone Jan Antem as Figaro at the centre of the action.

The cast also featured José Antonio López and Lianna Haroutounian as the Count and Countess, alongside sopranist Rafael Quirant as Cherubino.

They were joined by Léontine Maridat-Zimmerlin, Wojtek Gierlach, David Barrera, Ruth González, Cristian Díaz and Alberto Ballesta.

The production is a co-production between Auditorio de Tenerife and Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, with contributions from the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo Choir and the Tenerife International Dance Centre.

One final performance on Saturday

With the latest show sold out, Saturday’s performance is the final opportunity to see this production in Tenerife.
