Tenerife Bluetrail Opens 320 Places for Family, Children and Inclusive Races

The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB 2027 has opened registration for four of its more accessible race formats, with 320 places available for children, families and participants with different abilities.

Registrations opened today, 15 September, for Reto, Joëlettes, Family Race and Peque Race.

All four events will take place on Saturday 10 April 2027, the final day of the Tenerife Bluetrail.

Four races and 320 places

The places are divided between the four formats:

  • Reto: 100 places
  • Joëlettes: 20 places
  • Family Race: 100 places
  • Peque Race: 100 places

The idea is to make the Bluetrail experience available to people who might not be taking on one of the island’s big mountain distances.

The Reto is designed around inclusion, with different distances of 8.5km and 1km, allowing participants to choose an option suited to their abilities.

The Joëlettes event covers 8km and is aimed at participants who require technical assistance. It combines trail running with teamwork and inclusion.

A family-friendly 5km

The Family Race covers 5km and is designed for teams of up to five family members.

Each team must include at least one adult and one child.

The race starts at Barranco de San Felipe in Puerto de la Cruz and finishes at Playa de Martiánez.

And one for the really little ones

The Peque Race is aimed at children under seven years old, who must take part alongside an adult.

The route is just 1km, starting at Casa de la Aduana and finishing at Playa de Martiánez.

Both the Family Race and Peque Race start at 10:00am.

Most Bluetrail places have already gone

The opening of these four categories comes as many of the other races in the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB 2027 have already sold out.

At present, places remain available for the 68k, 47k Relay and Vertical Night Challenge, while the other categories have already reached capacity.

The 2027 Tenerife Bluetrail takes place from 8 to 10 April, with three days of races covering a wide range of distances and formats.

There are the serious ultra-distance challenges for the mountain-running crowd, along with events designed to get families and participants with different abilities involved.

Not everyone needs to run halfway across Tenerife to earn a medal.
