If you’ve never been to Icod during San Marcos…
This is when it all comes together.
The Main Days
This weekend marks the peak of the patron saint festivities.
📅 April 25 & 26
📍 Icod de los Vinos
A mix of tradition, religion, and proper local atmosphere.
Saturday Is the Big One
The day starts with the more traditional side:
- 10:30 → Transfer of the city banner
- 11:00 → Mass and procession of San Marcos
Then it shifts into something more lively in the evening:
- 20:30 → Fiesta Canaria + Paseo de las Tradiciones
Different neighbourhoods getting involved… music, costumes, the lot.
Sunday Keeps It Going
A bit more relaxed… but still worth it:
- 18:00 → Taifa afternoon with folkloric groups
More music… more local feel… less rush.
What It’s Really Like
This isn’t a polished event for tourists.
It’s one of those proper local fiestas where:
- People actually take part
- Traditions are still followed
- The town feels busy all day
Worth Knowing
If you’re heading north this weekend…
You’ll feel it straight away.
These are the kind of fiestas that haven’t changed much…
…and that’s exactly why people still go.
