The legendary Cuban group Septeto Santiaguero comes to the Teatro Leal in La Laguna this Saturday, 5 September, with its ‘Y sigo pa’lante tour’, offering a lively journey through the band’s three decades of music.
The concert starts at 8pm and will feature some of the finest examples of Cuban son alongside the songs that have defined the group’s long career.
Thirty years of Cuban music
With more than 30 years on stage, Septeto Santiaguero has established itself as one of the leading international names in traditional Cuban music.
The group is known for bringing older songs back to life while giving classic Cuban styles such as son, guaracha, bolero and changüí a more contemporary sound.
That approach has helped introduce traditional Cuban music to younger audiences without losing the character and authenticity of the original styles.
The band’s energy and respect for its musical roots have also earned plenty of recognition from critics, including two Latin Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Tropical Album.
The group won in 2015 for No quiero llanto and again in 2018 for A mí qué.
Over the years, Septeto Santiaguero has also worked with major names including Rubén Blades, José Alberto ‘El Canario’, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Oscar D’León.
Back to La Laguna
This will not be the group’s first appearance in La Laguna. Septeto Santiaguero previously performed in the city in December 2025 and will now return with a show designed to get the audience moving.
‘Y sigo pa’lante tour’ brings together the band’s musical history and its commitment to keeping traditional Cuban music alive, while continuing to give it a place on modern stages.
