Santa Cruz opens applications for 2026 cultural grants with funding of up to €50,000 per project

Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has opened applications for its 2026 Cultural Grants Programme, offering financial support to cultural organisations, associations and promoters through two funding streams designed to strengthen the city’s cultural programme.

Applications will be accepted from 6th to 31st July, following the publication of the scheme in the Official Provincial Bulletin. The grants are managed by the Autonomous Cultural Organisation (OAC).

Two funding categories available

The programme is divided into two categories.

The first, Large-Scale Events, is aimed at projects capable of attracting large audiences and making a significant cultural impact within the municipality.

The second, Ongoing Cultural Activity, supports year-round cultural programming organised by local associations, cultural groups and organisations.

Funding available

The Large-Scale Events category has an initial budget of €100,000, which could increase to €304,000 if additional funding becomes available.

Successful applicants can receive grants of up to €50,000 per project, provided the funding does not exceed the total cost of the event.

The Ongoing Cultural Activity category has a total budget of €84,000. Of this, €63,000 is allocated to festivals, exhibitions, cultural events and programmes organised by local cultural organisations, while €21,000 is reserved for permanent cultural centres that offer programming open to the public.

Projects in this category can receive grants of up to €12,000, while permanent cultural centres are eligible for up to €8,000, with funding limited to 75% of the total project cost. Public funding cannot exceed the overall cost of the activity.

Applications open until 31st July

The City Council hopes the funding programme will encourage new cultural initiatives, strengthen existing projects and continue supporting the creative community across Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Interested organisations, associations and cultural promoters have until 31st July to submit their applications.
