The family-friendly event brought together cyclists of all ages for a morning dedicated to exercise, sustainable mobility and community spirit.

A Route Through the Heart of the City

The event began at 10:00am, with participants setting off from Parque La Granja and making their way to the Puerto-Ciudad waterfront esplanade.

Along the route, hundreds of spectators gathered to cheer on the cyclists, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the city.

The event welcomed families, casual riders and cycling enthusiasts alike, reinforcing its reputation as one of Santa Cruz’s most accessible and inclusive sporting activities.

Promoting Healthy Lifestyles and Sustainable Mobility

Santa Cruz Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez highlighted the strong public response to the event, noting that the high level of participation reflects the popularity of the Fiesta de la Bicicleta among residents.

He also emphasised the importance of initiatives that encourage healthy living, outdoor activity and the use of public spaces.

Sports Councillor Alicia Cebrián described the event as a celebration of sport, sustainability and community involvement, bringing together people of all ages in a positive and welcoming environment.

Grand Prize Draw Closes the Event

The celebrations concluded at the Puerto-Ciudad esplanade, where participants took part in the traditional prize draw sponsored by El Corte Inglés.

As part of the closing ceremony:

• 20 bicycles were raffled among registered participants

• Families and cyclists gathered for the final activities

• Local representatives attended the event’s conclusion

The bicycle giveaway has become one of the most anticipated elements of the Fiesta de la Bicicleta each year.
