La Gran Manzana Shopping Centre Opens This Thursday in South Tenerife

After years of anticipation, La Gran Manzana shopping centre is finally set to open its doors this Thursday, 23 July, bringing a major new retail and leisure destination to Las Chafiras, in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona.

The development is expected to become one of the largest commercial hubs in the area, offering shopping, dining and entertainment under one roof.

A Landmark Development for San Miguel de Abona

San Miguel de Abona’s mayor, Arturo González, recently visited the site to inspect the completed interior spaces, communal areas and external landscaping ahead of the official opening.

Speaking during the visit, he described the project as a significant milestone for the municipality.

According to the mayor, La Gran Manzana will be the first shopping centre of its size and type in San Miguel de Abona, providing a new destination not only for local residents but for people across the south of Tenerife.

Shopping, Dining and Entertainment

The new complex offers around 18,000 square metres of commercial space.

Visitors can expect a mix of retail outlets, restaurants and leisure facilities, alongside a supermarket covering more than 1,200 square metres.

One of the biggest attractions will be a modern cinema with more than four screens, adding a much-needed entertainment option for the area.

The centre has also been designed to host leisure activities and could become a venue for future cultural events and community celebrations.

A Boost for Las Chafiras

Las Chafiras has grown into one of the busiest commercial and business districts in south Tenerife over the past few years.

The arrival of La Gran Manzana is expected to strengthen that position even further, attracting shoppers from neighbouring municipalities as well as visitors already staying in the south of the island.

As well as expanding the retail offering, the development is also expected to create a significant number of new jobs, something the local council sees as an important economic boost for the municipality.

Another Sign of Growth in South Tenerife

South Tenerife continues to see major investment in both residential and commercial developments, reflecting the area’s growing population and popularity with visitors.

With its mix of shops, restaurants, supermarket and cinema, La Gran Manzana is set to become an important new destination for residents and tourists alike when it officially opens its doors this week.
