Icod de los Vinos Launches New Food Trail to Celebrate Local Cuisine This Autumn

Good food has never been difficult to find in Icod de los Vinos.

From traditional Canarian dishes to local wines and fresh produce, the town has built a strong reputation as one of Tenerife’s best places to enjoy authentic island cuisine.

Now it’s looking to build on that reputation with the launch of “Icod en Ruta”, a new gastronomic event taking place from 19th to 31st October 2026.

A showcase for local restaurants

The event aims to bring together restaurants, bars and hospitality businesses from across the municipality to highlight the quality and variety of Icod’s food scene.

Organisers hope the initiative will attract new visitors, support local businesses and further establish Icod de los Vinos as one of Tenerife’s leading food destinations.

It’s not just about serving great food. It’s about celebrating the ingredients, traditions and culinary talent that make the area unique.

Hospitality businesses invited to get involved

The first step towards taking part is an information meeting for restaurants and hospitality businesses.

The meeting will be held on:

  • Date: 3rd August
  • Time: 8.00am
  • Venue: Plenary Hall, Icod de los Vinos Town Hall

Businesses attending will learn more about how they can participate in the food trail and showcase their own culinary creations during the event.

Putting Icod’s food on the map

Food festivals have become increasingly popular across Tenerife, giving visitors another reason to explore towns beyond the island’s better-known tourist resorts.

For Icod de los Vinos, the new Icod en Ruta initiative is an opportunity to strengthen its reputation as a destination where excellent local food and wine are very much part of the experience.

If the event proves successful, it could become another welcome addition to Tenerife’s growing calendar of food and wine festivals.
