October brings the return of Have Fun in Your Neighborhood 2026, a programme designed to get children and families out into their local neighbourhoods for an afternoon of games, activities and a bit of socialising.
Organised by the Citizen Participation Council, led by Adaisy Arias, the programme is all about bringing leisure activities closer to residents and giving children the chance to play and spend time with other kids and their neighbours.
Two afternoons of activities
The October programme will visit two different areas of the municipality.
Sotavento

Charco del Pino

Chimama Sports Centre
17:00 to 20:00
There will be plenty going on during both afternoons, including intergenerational workshops, participatory games, music, inflatable attractions and craft activities.
It sounds like the sort of event where the children get to burn off some energy while the adults hopefully manage to have a conversation without being interrupted every 14 seconds.
The activities are designed to encourage children, families and neighbours to get involved together, making the programme as much about meeting people locally as it is about keeping the kids entertained.
