Guachinche Casa Ángela Serves Traditional Canarian Food, From Stuffed Tomatoes to Fried Rabbit

If you fancy traditional Canarian food in the north of Tenerife, Guachinche Casa Ángela in La Victoria de Acentejo has a menu worth looking at. Stuffed tomatoes, fried rabbit and homemade quesillo are among the dishes on offer, although its prices have prompted a bit of debate among customers.

Located at 84 Calle Pedro Hernández, the restaurant recently received another visit from the food creators behind @guachinchesmodernos, who returned after several years to see how things had changed.

Stuffed Tomatoes and Generous Portions

One dish that clearly stuck in their memory was the stuffed tomatoes, filled with cheese and ham.

The creators said they remembered the dish from a visit around ten years ago and still recommended giving it a try.

Their meal also included homemade fish churros, fabada and a sauce that caught their attention. For the main course, they ordered a pork chop with natural-cut chips, along with a platter of fried rabbit.

They praised the generous portions, flavour and golden finish of the rabbit. To finish, there was quesillo, a traditional Canarian dessert.

Are the Prices Worth It?

Not everyone has been happy with the prices at Casa Ángela, with some online reviews raising concerns about the cost of eating there.

However, the food creators had a different view after their latest visit. They acknowledged the criticism but felt the prices were reasonable by today’s standards.

As ever, what counts as good value depends on what you order and what you expect to pay. The best way to judge is to look at the menu before settling in for lunch.
