Granadilla de Abona has officially revealed the full programme for its 2026 Fiestas Mayores, celebrating San Antonio de Padua and Nuestra Señora del Rosario with weeks of events across the town.
This year has an extra layer of tradition too.
The celebrations bring back the historic Luminarias de San Antonio, revived thanks to residents of Arquitecto Marrero and El Pino, who have also been named the official town criers for this year’s festivities.
A nice touch really.
Instead of putting the spotlight elsewhere, it goes back to the people keeping traditions alive.

🥾 XLVIII Romería in honour of San Antonio de Padua
The day starts with a solemn mass and offering before the romería heads through the historic centre and finishes in Los Hinojeros, followed by a large open-air celebration with music from:
• Amanecer de La Gomera
• Tropin
• Acapulco
• Wamampy
Traditional Canarian dress is required.

⛪ Day of San Antonio de Padua
Highlights include:
• Mass sung by Los Sabandeños
• Blessing and distribution of San Antonio bread
• Procession through town
• Evening concert by Hermanos de Jacoba
• Miss & Mister World Tenerife 2026 in Los Hinojeros

Tradition Returns to the Streets
One of the standout parts this year is the recovery of the traditional luminarias, something residents have worked to preserve over recent years.
Granadilla is leaning hard into heritage this year.
