The Festival de Música Contemporánea de Tenerife (FMUC 2026) opens its latest edition on Friday 29 May with a special concert-dialogue led by tenor Airam Hernández and percussionist Verónica Cagigao.
The performance takes place in the Sala de Cámara and brings together contemporary composition, poetry and live performance in a programme built around four world premieres commissioned by Auditorio de Tenerife.
Four World Premieres
The evening will feature new works by composers:
• José Luis Perdigón
• Mario Carro
• Samuel Aguilar
• Sergio Blardony
The programme explores the relationship between lyrical voice and percussion, combining:
• Marimba
• Electronic elements
• Stage movement and visual expression
Poetry and Contemporary Sound
The concert also draws inspiration from texts by renowned writers including:
• Josefina de la Torre
• Federico García Lorca
• Emily Dickinson
Adding another layer to a performance designed to blend music, literature and contemporary creation.
Students from the Percussion Department of the Tenerife Professional Conservatory of Music will also take part in the event.
