Fedes Ascensores La Laguna Claim First Liga Iberdrola Victory

Fedes Ascensores La Laguna finally have their first win of the Liga Iberdrola season, beating CV Kiele Socuéllamos 3-1 at the Juan Ríos Tejera Pavilion in La Laguna.

The result gives the Tenerife side a welcome boost and moves them off the bottom of the league table after a hard-fought match in the third round of the competition.

It wasn’t entirely straightforward, mind you. La Laguna lost the opening set before finding their rhythm and taking control of the match.

A Slow Start Before the Comeback

The first set was closely contested, with both teams trading points and neither managing to establish a clear advantage. Serving errors crept in, but Daniela Palacín and Agos Beltramino helped the home side move ahead at 12-8.

Kiele Socuéllamos fought back and edged in front at 19-22, forcing La Laguna coach Ambrosio González to call timeouts.

Emma Ordóñez helped the hosts save two set points, but La Laguna eventually lost the opener 24-26.

La Laguna Find Their Feet

The response in the second set was exactly what the home crowd needed.

A strong four-point run led by Beltramino helped La Laguna take control. Kiele managed to level the score at 12-12, but contributions from Ordóñez and Sofía Bulgarella helped the Tenerife side pull away and win the set 25-22.

With the match level, La Laguna looked a different team.

They raced into a 6-2 lead in the third set and extended it to 14-6, keeping the pressure on their visitors. The set finished 25-16, putting the home side one set away from victory.

Kiele briefly threatened a comeback in the fourth, opening with a 3-1 lead. Beltramino and her teammates soon regained control, however, and despite a late push from the visitors, La Laguna closed out the set 25-17.

A Welcome Boost for the Tenerife Side

The 3-1 victory, with set scores of 24-26, 25-22, 25-16 and 25-17, marks an important moment for Fedes Ascensores La Laguna.

After dropping the first set, the team showed the resilience needed to turn the match around and secure their first league win of the season.

For a side looking to climb the table, it’s a welcome result and something to build on as the Liga Iberdrola campaign continues.
