Canary Green marked Canary Islands Day with a successful community beach clean-up at Playa Los Enojados in Las Galletas, bringing together volunteers from across the island to help protect Tenerife’s coastline.
Held on 30 May 2026, the initiative focused on removing litter from the beach and surrounding areas while raising awareness about the impact of marine pollution on the Canary Islands’ fragile coastal ecosystems.
More Than 500kg of Waste Collected
Despite the high temperatures, more than 50 volunteers dedicated their morning to cleaning the shoreline and nearby public spaces.
By the end of the event, participants had removed over 500 kilograms of waste, preventing rubbish from reaching the ocean and helping to restore the natural beauty of the area.

Protecting Tenerife’s Coastline
Canary Green organisers highlighted the importance of community action in tackling environmental challenges and protecting the islands’ coastal environments.
Beach clean-ups not only remove existing waste but also help raise awareness, encourage sustainable habits and inspire more people to take an active role in protecting the natural spaces that make the Canary Islands so special.
The success of the Las Galletas event demonstrates what can be achieved when local communities work together towards a common goal.
