A Night Under the Stars: The XXI Ruta Nocturna to the Hermano Pedro Eres

There’s something rather special about walking through Tenerife after dark, particularly when there’s a bit of history involved.

On 11 September, Granadilla de Abona will host the XXI Ruta Nocturna al antiguo Ere del Hermano Pedro, with this year’s theme, “Donde el agua guarda los nombres”.

The route will begin at 21:00, departing from Calle Evaristo Gómez, behind the stage at El Médano’s main square, before heading towards the old Ere.

Culture, history and a bit of theatre

The evening is designed as more than just a night walk.

Participants will be able to discover the history and traditions associated with this important local site, with performances along the way from Thynisara theatre group and La Zafra.

It sounds like the sort of event where you can learn something, get some fresh air and stare at the stars for a while. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night.

The event is organised by the Granadilla de Abona Town Hall, through its Department of Culture, together with the El Médano 2026 Festivities Commission.

How to take part

The route takes place on Friday 11 September, starting at 21:00.

Meeting point: Calle Evaristo Gómez, behind the stage at El Médano square.

Registration: Prior registration is required through the municipal website, with registration opening on Friday 4 September.
