Cabildo Increases CD Tenerife Sponsorship to More Than €2.3 Million by 2027

CD Tenerife’s return to the Segunda División has brought a financial boost from the Tenerife Cabildo, with sponsorship funding set to increase over the next two years.

The additional funding will be provided through SPET, Turismo de Tenerife, following the club’s promotion from Primera Federación.

The new figures are:

  • 2026: €1,978,450, including an additional €378,450.
  • 2027: €2,356,900, including an additional €756,900.

The figures were explained by Cabildo vice president Lope Afonso.

Sponsorship Linked to the Club’s Competition Level

Afonso said the adjustment follows the same technical criteria used when CD Tenerife was relegated to Primera Federación.

The sponsorship value is influenced by several factors, including the division in which the team competes, audience reach and the associated media exposure.

When CD Tenerife dropped down a division in May 2025, SPET reduced its annual sponsorship by €756,900, bringing the amount to approximately €1.6 million, in line with the terms of the sponsorship agreement.

Now that the club has secured promotion, the funding is being adjusted once again.

It is a useful reminder that football finances are not only about what happens on the pitch. The division, the audience and the visibility a club generates all have a part to play.
