There are plenty of ways to spend a day exploring north Tenerife, but this one combines a few of the better things in life… cake, proper local food and some seriously impressive views.
Content creator Ismael Peral, better known as @ismafeten, has shared his suggested route, starting in Buenavista del Norte.
Start in Buenavista
First stop is the town itself, with its charming main square well worth a wander.
Then comes the important bit… El Aderno.
The famous pastry shop is a good place to stop for a traditional rosquete, or one of its other handmade sweets. Probably best not to fill up too much, though, because lunch is next.
Lunch at Bodegón Patamero
The route then heads to Bodegón Patamero for some proper local food.
No complicated itinerary. Just sit down, order something good and enjoy it.
Finish at Punta de Teno
With lunch out of the way, the final stop is what Ismael describes as “the end of the world”… Punta de Teno.
It’s one of those parts of Tenerife that feels completely different from the busy resorts in the south. Dramatic volcanic scenery, clear water and views that make the journey worthwhile.
Access restrictions mean that public transport is often the best option, so it’s worth checking how and when you can get there before setting off.
At the end of the road sits the Punta de Teno lighthouse, surrounded by lava and the Atlantic.
Not a bad way to spend a day in north Tenerife.
