Special Recognition for Sportsmanship

Beyond the results, the event also celebrated the values that underpin the Deporte Joven programme.

🏅 The “Team Spirit” Award was presented to IES Lucas Martín Espino from Icod de los Vinos for their outstanding commitment to respect, fair play and positive behaviour throughout the competition.

Organisers highlighted the school’s ability to demonstrate that while winning matters, treating opponents with respect and playing with integrity is equally important.

🏅 The “Spirit Leader” Award went to Miguel Arsenio Rodríguez, a teacher at IES Manuel Martín González in Guía de Isora, in recognition of his role as a mentor and role model who promotes respect, coexistence and positive values among students.

Promoting Sport and Values

The event forms part of the island’s ongoing efforts to encourage young people to engage in sport while developing important life skills such as teamwork, inclusion and mutual respect.

The initiative was supported through the collaboration of Loro Parque and Siam Park, helping to reinforce the educational and social objectives of the programme.
