An evening of traditional Canarian music, culture and community spirit awaits in Tacoronte this weekend as the municipality hosts the XIX Chedey Folk Music Gathering.
The event will take place on Saturday, 13 June, from 8:30pm in Plaza de La Estación, offering residents and visitors the chance to enjoy a night dedicated to the sounds and traditions of the Canary Islands.
A Night of Music and Tradition
Promoted by Parranda Chedey, under the direction of Suso López, the gathering has become one of the municipality’s most cherished cultural events, celebrating the folk music that forms an important part of Canarian identity.
Each year, the event brings together musicians and audiences in a relaxed atmosphere where traditional songs, popular melodies and island customs take centre stage.
Special Guests from Fuerteventura
Joining this year’s celebration will be Grupo de Música Popular Tabajoste, one of Fuerteventura’s best-known folk groups.
Renowned for their dedication to preserving and sharing Canarian musical traditions, the group will add their unique style and repertoire to an evening that promises to showcase the diversity of folk music across the archipelago.
Supported by Tacoronte’s Cultural Programme
The event is organised with the support of the Department of Culture of Tacoronte Town Hall, led by Mayor Sandra Izquierdo, reinforcing the municipality’s commitment to promoting local traditions and cultural heritage.
