La Laguna is going all in for Family Day 2026.
This Saturday 23 May, the historic centre will become one huge outdoor play area with more than 100 free activities running from 10:00 to 19:00.
Under the theme “La Laguna, a city where you grow through play”, the town is basically handing the streets over to families for the day.
And looking at the programme… they’re not doing things by halves.
Giant Games, Shows and Sports
Around La Catedral, expect adventure zones, inflatables and children’s performances including:
• La Pandilla de Drilo
• Dansign performances
Plaza Doctor Olivera becomes the giant games area with XXL versions of:
• Ludo
• Dominoes
• Goose Game
Plus live music and appearances from Gran SuperAbuela.
Meanwhile Calle San Agustín focuses on sport with:
• Martial arts
• Canary wrestling
• Boxing
• Roller skating
• Juego del Palo
• Family obstacle courses
Canary Traditions and Workshops
At Plazoleta de Zerolo, next to La Concepción, visitors can try traditional Canary games presented by local cultural groups.
Workshops across Herradores and Obispo Rey Redondo include:
• Creative painting
• Circus arts
• Textile reuse
• Planting and gardening
• Face painting
• Educational activities
Street entertainment and parades will move through the centre all day.
Circus, Dinosaurs and Fairy Tales
A few extra highlights…
Plaza del Adelantado hosts the Family Day Circus with shows at:
🕛 12:00
🕔 17:00
Expect comedy, magic and family entertainment.
Plaza Hermano Ramón transforms into “Jurassic La Laguna” with life-sized dinosaurs.
Because apparently every family event improves dramatically once dinosaurs appear.
Meanwhile Casa Mesa presents “A City of Stories”, inspired by Aladdin, and Calle Carrera gets a giant inflatable castle photo area.
A Delayed Celebration
The event was originally planned for 16 May, but weather forecasts pushed it back by a week.
Probably a sensible move.
Inflatable castles and Tenerife wind rarely make good friends.
