Los Realejos Brings Local Flavours and Big Ambitions to GastroCanarias 2026

Los Realejos has returned to GastroCanarias 2026 with a stand that feels familiar… but with a bit more polish this year.

Mayor Adolfo González described it as continuing the same promotional approach the municipality has followed in recent years, but with “a leap in aesthetic quality and concept”.

The result is “Reflejos Gastronómicos”, Los Realejos’ own space at one of the Canary Islands’ biggest food events.

More Than 25 Activities Over Three Days

The municipality arrived with a packed programme of around 25 activities, designed to give visitors more than just samples.

The idea was simple…

Meet the people behind the products too.

Visitors had the chance to discover the work of:

• Chefs
• Pastry makers
• Winemakers
• Sommeliers
• Producers from Los Realejos

Live showcookings and demonstrations ran throughout the fair, with local professionals preparing dishes and explaining their products directly.

A Showcase of Local Produce

The stand highlighted some of the best-known products coming out of Los Realejos, including:

• Wines
• Gofio
• Pastries
• Craft beers
• Cheeses
• Meats
• Agricultural produce

The programme also included:

• Potato and gofio tastings
• Pairings with local wine and beer
• Collaborative dishes between chefs
• Pastry experiences
• A healthy school menu inspired by local cuisine

Interesting one that.

School menus don’t usually get star billing at food fairs.

GastroCanarias Becomes a Fixture

Tourism councillor José David Cabrera described the fair as one of the Canary Islands’ biggest gastronomic showcases and said Los Realejos now sees its participation as something of a tradition.

And fair enough really.

Food events in Tenerife increasingly seem to become about identity as much as gastronomy.

Bonita Potato Competition Returns in July

Los Realejos also used the fair to launch the third edition of its Bonita Potato Cooking Competition.

The event returns this July as part of the Bonita Potato Gastronomic Fair, included within the Fiestas del Carmen programme.

Only in Tenerife could potatoes become the stars of a culinary competition…

And somehow it works perfectly.
