Semana Santa is nearly here in Puerto de la Cruz… and if you’ve never experienced it properly, it’s worth slowing down and taking a look.
This isn’t just a few processions and a bit of noise. It’s one of those times where you really see the place for what it is… tradition, community, and a lot of pride in doing things properly.
They’ve released the full programme of events, covering both the town centre and the different neighbourhoods. So whether you’re right in the middle of it or tucked away somewhere quieter, there’s always something going on.

Or if you’re more old school, pop into the town hall between 9 and 2 and grab a physical copy.
If you’re living here, go and see at least one of the processions. If you’re visiting, even better… you’ll get a proper feel for the place beyond the usual tourist bits.
It’s one of those things that reminds you you’re not just in the sun… you’re in Spain.
