14 June: Teno – A Way of Life Hiking Route Through Teno Rural Park

The fourth hiking event of the IX Juegos Máster will take participants into the heart of Teno Rural Park on Sunday 14 June, offering the chance to explore one of Tenerife’s most spectacular natural landscapes.

Under the title Teno: A Way of Life, the route follows historic trails through the park, combining stunning scenery with insights into the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

Route Details

The walk begins in Bolico before heading towards the heights of Baracán, following trails that showcase some of the most impressive scenery in the Teno massif.

After taking in the panoramic views from the viewpoint, participants will continue towards Las Portelas before returning to Bolico.

• Distance: Approximately 9.5 kilometres
• Elevation gain: 550 metres
• Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
• Duration: Full-day activity

Organisers describe the route as demanding but highly rewarding, offering a unique opportunity to experience one of Tenerife’s most iconic rural landscapes.

Guided Experience

Participants will be accompanied by qualified hiking guides throughout the route.

The guides will provide information about the area’s history, geography, wildlife and traditional way of life, helping walkers gain a deeper understanding of the landscape they are exploring.

Participation is free of charge.

Due to the popularity of the hiking programme, early registration is recommended.

Transport and Schedule

To encourage sustainable travel, transport will be provided by coach.

• Departure: 08:00 from Plaza del Adelantado, La Laguna
• Return: Approximately 17:00 to the same location

Before registering, participants should ensure they are in suitable physical condition for the route.
