Tenerife’s Loro Parque-Siam Park Cycle Ride Celebrates 18 Years

The Loro Parque-Siam Park Cycle Tour is back this Sunday, 25 October, for its 18th edition, bringing together 250 cyclists for an 85-kilometre ride from the north of Tenerife to the south.

The event was officially presented at Tenerife Council’s Salón Noble on Tuesday, marking a milestone for what has become the island’s longest-running cycling tour.

And there’s no racing involved. The idea is to enjoy the ride, take in the scenery and get a decent bit of exercise without anyone feeling the need to behave like they’re competing in the Tour de France.

85 kilometres across 12 municipalities

The ride starts at 8:30am on Sunday at Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz and finishes at Siam Park in Adeje.

The 85-kilometre route passes through 12 municipalities:

  • Puerto de la Cruz
  • La Orotava
  • Los Realejos
  • San Juan de la Rambla
  • La Guancha
  • Icod de los Vinos
  • El Tanque
  • Garachico
  • Los Silos
  • Santiago del Teide
  • Guía de Isora
  • Adeje

The ride is designed for cyclists of different abilities, with a moderate pace. Road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes and electric bikes are all welcome.

All 250 places have already been filled, showing just how popular the event has become.

Support along the way

Safety is a priority, with the Guardia Civil traffic police accompanying the cyclists, motorcycle volunteers covering junctions and two ambulances available in case of emergencies.

There will also be a support van to collect bikes that develop mechanical problems, plus a bus for anyone unable to continue. Riders who need to stop can potentially rejoin the event further along the route.

Two refreshment stops are planned. The first, at the Garachico viewpoint, will provide drinks, while the second in Santiago del Teide will offer food and drinks before the final stretch to Adeje.

At Siam Park, riders can look forward to the final refreshments, prize draws and recognition awards. These include prizes for the youngest and oldest male and female participants, as well as the team with the most riders taking part.

A free day at Siam Park

One of the perks of entering is a free ticket to Siam Park.

This year, participants can use it on the same day after the ride and awards ceremony, or save it for a visit before the end of 2026.

Anyone heading into the water park straight after cycling can also use the secure bicycle storage service, leaving their bike safely looked after while they enjoy the attractions.

The event is supported by Loro Parque, Siam Park, Tenerife Council and the 12 municipalities along the route, alongside a range of local cycling businesses and sponsors.

Eighteen editions in, the ride continues to combine sport, the island’s landscapes and a bit of friendly cycling camaraderie. And finishing at Siam Park isn’t a bad reward for 85 kilometres in the saddle.
