The final few days of the XIII MUSAMéxico Festival are heading to the Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with a rather varied programme to finish things off.
There are talks, Mexican cinema, live music and even a chocolate-making workshop. So, basically, something for anyone who can be persuaded out of the house.
Wednesday, 23 September

The final stretch begins with ‘La corriente que nos une: viajes a través del Atlántico. Once años después’, a talk by Alejandro de Vera Hernández.
The session looks back at the Atlantic connections explored eleven years ago, continuing the festival’s focus on the cultural links between the Canary Islands and Mexico.
Thursday, 24 September

The Mexican cinema programme comes to an end with Sujo (2024), directed by Fernanda Valadez and Astrid Rondero.
It brings the film cycle to a close as part of the final week of MUSAMéxico.
Friday, 25 September

Music takes over with Mencey Romántico, providing the soundtrack for the festival’s final week.
A chance to head to MUNA for some live music rather than spending another Friday night wondering where the evening went.
Saturday, 26 September

The festival finishes with ‘Cacao en tus manos’, an artisan chocolate-making workshop organised by Espacio Moona.
There is one small problem if you were hoping to attend… both sessions are already fully booked.
Still, it sounds like a suitably chocolatey way to finish a festival celebrating the cultural connections between the Canary Islands and Mexico.
