The La Luz celebrations in Tacoronte get underway this Friday, with four days of traditional festivities planned in honour of the neighbourhood’s patron saint.
The annual celebrations run from 4 to 7 September 2026 and include a mix of religious and popular events organised by the 2026 Fiesta Committee, working alongside Tacoronte’s Department of Fiestas and Citizen Participation.
Four days of fiestas
The programme includes plenty to keep people busy, with a drag gala, children’s gala, young people’s party, variety festival, live music and traditional verbenas.
There’s also a classic car gathering, among other activities taking place throughout the four-day celebration.
So, as usual with a Tenerife fiesta, there should be little danger of anyone complaining that there wasn’t enough going on.
The main religious celebration
One of the key moments comes on Saturday 5 September, when the traditional religious celebrations take place in honour of Nuestra Señora de La Luz.
Mass will begin at 20:00, followed by a procession carrying the revered image through the area.
The procession will be accompanied by the AM Santa Cecilia Music Band, before the evening finishes with a fireworks display.
