Papagayo Tenerife is marking its 14th anniversary with a big night of house and tech house, bringing Dutch DJ and producer Franky Rizardo to the venue on Saturday, 19 September 2026.
The special edition of Essence will see Rizardo joined by Papagayo’s resident DJs Beto Uña and Alex Wellmann, combining an international name with two familiar faces from Tenerife’s nightlife scene.
Franky Rizardo heads to Tenerife
Rizardo has spent more than two decades building a name for himself in the house and tech house world.
He’s known for energetic sets that mix plenty of dancefloor energy with a more emotional side, and his 2026 diary includes appearances at clubs and festivals across Europe and the United States, as well as regular dates in Ibiza.
He’s also built strong links with the wider electronic music scene through Music On, performing at well-known venues including Pacha Ibiza and Space Miami.
Earlier this year, his More To Life concept filled Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, where around 15,000 people turned up for the show.
So, yes, Papagayo has picked someone who knows his way around a dancefloor.
From FLOW to Tenerife
Rizardo’s influence goes beyond his own DJ sets.
In 2015, he launched FLOW, a concept that has grown into an international electronic music brand, with events taking place in cities including New York and Lima.
FLOW also secured a residency at Pacha Ibiza for 2026, further strengthening Rizardo’s position within the international club circuit.
He’s equally active in the studio, with an extensive catalogue covering house and techno.
His latest release, Shinjuku, has already passed one million streams, while his own label, LTF Records, provides a platform for his music and emerging electronic artists.
A special night for Papagayo
For Papagayo Tenerife, the anniversary is about more than simply bringing in a big-name DJ.
The venue has spent 14 years establishing itself as one of the Canary Islands’ better-known nightlife destinations, and this edition of Essence is designed to celebrate that history while keeping things firmly focused on the future.
With Rizardo behind the decks and Beto Uña and Alex Wellmann joining him, the evening should offer a mixture of international house music and the sound that Papagayo’s regulars already know.
The anniversary takes place on 19 September 2026, with the special Essence event set to be one of the venue’s biggest nights of the year.
Fourteen years in, Papagayo clearly isn’t planning to slow down just yet.
