La Laguna has a busy few days coming up, with free concerts, comedy and several exhibitions taking place across the city from 30 August to 3 September.
There is a good mix of music, culture and art, so if you fancy getting out of the house for something other than food or a wander around the shops, there are a few options.
José Manuel Ramos and Lucas Rojas perform on 30 August
The programme gets underway on Sunday, 30 August, with a free concert by José Manuel Ramos and Lucas Rojas.
The concert will take place in Plaza de La Candelaria at 10pm and is being held in honour of the Virgen de Candelaria.
Petite Lorena brings Tremenda to Teatro Leal
On Wednesday, 2 September, Petite Lorena takes to the stage at Teatro Leal with her show Tremenda, starting at 8.30pm.
The monologue takes a humorous look at political correctness and everyday life, with plenty of influence from Canarian oral traditions.
Also starting at 8.30pm that evening, Los Cantadores will perform at the CEIP Las Chumberas sports court, with a concert focused on Canarian music and folklore.
New exhibitions open in September
From 3 September until 5 October, the Convento de Santo Domingo will host Trazos con alma canaria, an exhibition by artist Ciara B.
Her work is inspired by the landscapes and biodiversity of the Canary Islands, while also incorporating elements connected to Amazigh cultural heritage.
The exhibition can be visited on weekdays from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm, with Saturday opening hours from 11am to 2pm.
The same venue is also hosting work by the Colectivo Recrearte, featuring images inspired by Canarian poet Pedro García Cabrera. The exhibition runs from 26 August until 17 September and explores his connection with the sea and nature of the islands.
