Candelaria’s Patron Saint Festivities Can Be Watched Live From Anywhere

The main celebrations will be broadcast live, allowing people across Tenerife, the Canary Islands and beyond to follow the traditional events from home

You don’t have to be in Candelaria to take part in the Fiestas de la Patrona.

Whether you’re in Fuerteventura, Barcelona or somewhere on the other side of the Atlantic, you can still watch the main celebrations live from home.

The Guanche Ceremony, traditional wrestling matches, Military Parade, Eucharist and Offering will all be broadcast live as part of this year’s celebrations honouring the Virgin of Candelaria, Patroness of the Canary Islands.

📅 Date: August 2026
📍 Area: Candelaria, Tenerife
📺 Broadcast: La 2 de TVE en Canarias, Televisión Canaria, COPE Canarias and Candelaria Radio

Candelaria comes to you

The live broadcasts mean that people who cannot make the journey to Candelaria can still follow some of the most important moments of the celebrations.

The coverage will include the religious ceremonies and traditional events that form part of the programme, bringing the atmosphere of Candelaria into homes across the Canary Islands and further afield.

It’s a useful option for former residents, families living elsewhere and anyone who simply can’t make it to Tenerife this year.

And given how busy Candelaria gets around the main celebrations, watching from the sofa isn’t necessarily the worst plan in the world.

Where to follow the celebrations

The events will be available through:

  • La 2 de TVE en Canarias
  • Televisión Canaria
  • COPE Canarias
  • Candelaria Radio

The broadcasters will provide coverage of the main events throughout the festivities.
