Free Outdoor Summer Cinema Comes to Santa Cruz with FIMUCITÉ

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is bringing the magic of the big screen outdoors this July with a free Summer Cinema programme organised in collaboration with the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ).

Taking place in Plaza de Residencial Anaga from 3 to 5 July, the open-air screenings form part of the celebrations marking FIMUCITÉ’s 20th anniversary, combining family-friendly films with some of cinema’s most memorable musical scores.

Three nights of free films

The programme includes:

  • Friday, 3 July (8:00pm)The Wild Robot (Robot Salvaje), featuring a soundtrack by award-winning composer Kris Bowers.
  • Saturday, 4 July (8:00pm)How to Train Your Dragon (Cómo entrenar a tu dragón), accompanied by John Powell’s acclaimed orchestral score.
  • Sunday, 5 July (7:00pm)Hugo (La invención de Hugo), Martin Scorsese’s tribute to the early days of cinema, with music composed by Academy Award winner Howard Shore.

Celebrating film music in the community

The initiative is part of Santa Cruz’s commitment to bringing cultural events into local neighbourhoods while celebrating two decades of FIMUCITÉ, one of Europe’s leading film music festivals.

With free admission and family-friendly films, the outdoor screenings offer residents and visitors the chance to enjoy classic cinema under the stars while experiencing the powerful role that music plays in storytelling.
