The MAPAS 2026 International Performing Arts Festival continues its programme this summer with the arrival of Bodies of Water, a contemporary dance production by Germany’s DTH – Dance Theatre Heidelberg, directed by acclaimed choreographer Iván Pérez.
The performance will take place on 24 July at 7:30pm in the Symphony Hall of Auditorio de Tenerife.
Premiering earlier this year, on 31 January 2026, Bodies of Water explores the transformative power of water through movement, emotion and physical expression. The production brings together an international cast in a visually striking and immersive performance inspired by one of nature’s most essential elements.
Under the direction of Pérez, a former dancer with the prestigious Nederlands Dans Theater, the Heidelberg-based company combines contemporary choreography with theatrical storytelling, creating a sensory journey that examines the connection between the human body and water.
The performance forms part of the MAPAS 2026 programme, which showcases six international productions spanning dance, theatre and live performance.
🎟️ Tickets for Bodies of Water are available now for €15, with reduced €5 tickets for under-30s.
Festival-goers can also choose from:
• Full Festival Pass: €75 for all six international performances
• Partial Pass: €39 for any three performances
The production offers audiences an opportunity to experience one of Europe’s leading contemporary dance companies in a performance where movement, emotion and the symbolism of water take centre stage.
