The South Tenerife Grill Restaurant Winning Over Meat Lovers and Fans of Homemade Cooking

Finding a place in the south of Tenerife that does both proper Canarian food and serious grilled meat isn’t always easy.

Usually it leans one way or the other.

Asador La Camella, in Arona, seems to have decided to do both.

And judging by the locals and tourists filling the tables… it’s working.

Traditional Canarian Dishes Still on the Menu

Before the grills even get going, the menu starts firmly in Canarian territory.

Cold starters include:

• Pata asada
• Wagyu A5 carpaccio
• Various salads for sharing or individual portions

Then come the heavier hitters.

Hot dishes include:

Garbanzas de la abuela
• Escaldón
• Oxtail ropa vieja
• Goat meat
• Local cheeses and cured meats

Their own description says it fairly simply:

“Traditional Canarian food, grill specialists and wine pairing.”

Hard to argue with that.

Grilled Meats Take Centre Stage

The real draw though is the grill.

There’s plenty to choose from:

• Chicken
• Pork
• Beef
• Dry-aged beef cuts

This is very much a place for people who take meat seriously.

The sort who study the menu longer than they need to.

Dessert Still Gets a Look In

If you somehow have space left:

• Crema Catalana
• Lemon pie
• Cheesecake

Because Tenerife restaurants always seem determined to finish strong.
