Tenerife Wines Steal the Show… Big Wins at International Competition

Not Rioja. Not Ribera del Duero.

This time… Tenerife’s the one getting the attention.

What Happened

At the latest Cinve International Wine & Spirits Competition

Canary Islands wines picked up 57 medals.

And Tenerife? Took a big share of the top ones.

The Standouts

Across multiple categories, Tenerife wines pulled in Gran Oro awards:

Whites:

  • Alejandro Gallo Doble Malvasía
  • Brumas de Ayosa Blanco Seco
  • Flor de Chasna Blanco
  • Testamento Malvasía Aromática
  • Pagos de Reverón Blanco Ecológico

Reds:

  • Alejandro Gallo Syrah
  • Vijariego Negro & Tintilla
  • Brumas de Ayosa Tinto Joven

Rosé & Sweet:

  • Mencey Chasna Rosado
  • Alejandro Gallo Moscatel

And even:

  • Sparkling wine (Brumas de Ayosa)
  • Vermut… taking the only Gran Oro in its category

Not bad going.

More Than Just a Few Bottles

Beyond the top awards, there’s a long list of Gold medals across:

  • Whites
  • Reds
  • Rosés
  • Sweet wines

So it’s not just one standout producer… it’s happening across the board.

Why It Matters

Nearly 1,000 wines from around the world were entered.

So this isn’t a local competition… it’s a proper international one.

And Tenerife held its own… comfortably.

Worth Knowing

For years, these wines flew a bit under the radar…

Now they’re starting to get noticed outside the island.

And once that happens… it usually doesn’t go backwards.
