La Laguna’s been quietly building a decent music scene for years… and Efecto Laguna has been a big part of that.
Now it’s hitting 10 years, and they’re marking it with a full evening at Teatro Leal this April 16.
More Than Just Another Gig
This isn’t just live music and that’s it.
They’ve mixed it properly this year… a bit of industry talk, a bit of recognition, and then music to finish it off.
It starts from 17:30, and it’s free… just turn up and get in early before it fills.
The Interesting Bit
One of the highlights is the festival promoters’ forum.
Sounds dry… but it’s actually where you get a real look at how things work behind the scenes.
People from Jazz & Más, Boreal, Akelarre, Reggae Can Festival… all talking about what’s actually going on in the industry here.
If you’re into music beyond just listening to it, that’s probably the part worth catching.
A Proper Local Tribute
They’re also giving a lifetime recognition award to Txowie, from Las Ratas.
If you know the local scene, you’ll know the name.
Over 30 years involved… so it’s not one of those random awards, it actually makes sense.
How It Finishes
They’ve kept the ending simple.
Acoustic set from Las Ratas at 20:30 in the main hall.
No overproduction… just a proper close to the night.
There’s Also Something the Day Before
Worth mentioning…
On April 15, Beatriz Martín is playing a smaller, more intimate show called Tres60º.
More stripped back, more personal… one of those gigs where you actually listen rather than just stand there.
Worth Going?
If you’re into music locally, yeah… it’s a solid setup.
No big hype, no nonsense… just people who actually care about what they’re doing.
And after ten years, that’s probably why it’s still going.
