Some places just get it right.
Not flashy, not overhyped… just consistently good.
Tasca Faracho, in La Laguna, is one of those spots. And judging by how often it’s fully booked… people have clocked on.
First Impressions
It’s not just one thing.
Food, service, atmosphere… all lined up properly.
The kind of place where you sit down and quickly realise you’re in for a decent meal.
A Bit of Everything
They start simple enough.
Bread, hummus, that sort of thing… then it moves into more interesting territory.
Things like:
- Smoked cheese empanadillas with papaya jam and pistachio
- Artichokes with foie and palm honey
- Queso de media flor de Guía
It’s familiar… but not boring.
Where It Gets Better
Then you get into the mains.
This is where it stands out a bit more.
- Lentils with foie (sounds odd… works surprisingly well)
- Beef cheeks in sauce – proper “get the bread involved” situation
- Goat meat in almond sauce – even for people who don’t usually go near goat
It’s traditional food… just done with a bit more thought.
Don’t Skip Dessert
They’ve also gone slightly off-script with desserts.
There’s a Snickers-style creation that seems to be the one people talk about… not very Canarian on paper, but it fits.
Worth the Effort?
Short answer… yes.
Just don’t expect to walk in.
