What It’s About
The story follows Maribel, a prostitute who ends up meeting a shy, slightly awkward man called Marcelino.
Before she really knows what’s going on, she’s taken to meet his family… with the idea of marriage on the table.
What she finds is a house full of elderly women who are… unusually kind.
A bit too kind.
Things take a turn when her past catches up with her, and the situation becomes a mix of awkward, funny, and slightly surreal.
Worth Going?
It’s one of those classic Spanish comedies… a bit quirky, a bit unexpected, and easy to watch.
If you’re in the north and want a change from the usual night out, it’s a good option.
