Santa Cruz is getting back to normal after Storm Therese, with most parks and public spaces now reopened.
They were all shut as a precaution when the storm hit… fair enough, given the wind and rain. But with conditions improving, the council has scaled things back to pre-alert and started reopening the city.
What’s open again
Places like García Sanabria Park, Plaza del Príncipe, Plaza de San Francisco, and Secundino Delgado are back open, along with a long list of other parks across the city.
So if you’ve been waiting to get out for a walk without dodging barriers… you’re good to go.
What’s still closed
The Palmetum and Monte de Las Mesas are staying shut for now.
They’re being checked over properly to make sure there’s no damage or risk from fallen branches or unstable areas. Standard after a storm like that.
Back to normal… almost
The emergency plan has been downgraded, which is usually the sign things are settling down.
The council have also thanked residents for actually listening and staying cautious while the weather was at its worst… which, to be fair, doesn’t always happen.
Bit of disruption, then straight back to normal Tenerife life.
