Snow on Teide Again… Because Tenerife Likes to Keep You Guessing

Teide was covered in snow in the morning of March 19, 2026.

Not something you see every day… especially when half the island’s still walking around in shorts and sunglasses.

Storm Therese has dusted the top of the island, with snow showing clearly around the southern entrance near Chío. Proper contrast as well… blue skies down below, winter up top.

That’s Tenerife for you.

The Government’s already put Tenerife and La Palma on pre-alert for snow, which sounds dramatic… but up there, it doesn’t take much for conditions to change quickly.

Roads can close, temperatures drop fast, and suddenly that “quick drive up the mountain” turns into something a bit less casual.

If you’re thinking of heading up to see it, just bear that in mind.

Every time it snows on Teide, the same thing happens. People get excited, jump in the car, and head up without really thinking it through.

Then you’ve got traffic, cars parked everywhere, and the odd person dressed like they’re going to the beach… in near freezing temperatures.

Still… it’s one of those things that reminds you how odd this island really is.

You can be at the coast in 22 degrees… drive an hour… and end up looking at snow.

Not many places give you that.

Worth seeing… just don’t be daft about it.
