Mural on the Civic Centre – Los Cristianos

They’ve just unveiled a new mural outside the Cultural Centre in Los Cristianos.

And it’s actually a nice touch.

The piece recognises Arona’s long-standing band tradition and the role the Municipal School of Music and Dance plays in shaping young talent. Not just musically, but socially as well. It’s easy to forget how important these local institutions are until you see something like this go up on a wall.

The mural is all about music as identity. As community. As something that pulls different generations into the same space.

To mark the completion, students, staff, families and members of the Arona Music Band gathered in front of it for a big group photo. One of those proper community moments. Smiles, instruments, a bit of pride.

Whatever your taste in music, you can’t deny the value of it. It gives kids direction. It gives older generations continuity..and memories. And in a place like Tenerife, where so many cultures mix together, it helps keep local traditions alive.

Nice to see something positive on a wall for a change.
