One Night Only: Loquillo in Tenerife This October

Loquillo’s coming back to Tenerife… and it’s been a while.

Five years, to be exact.

He’ll be opening the Tenerife Peñón Fest on the 23rd of October in Santa Cruz, and from what’s been announced so far, that’s his only date in the Canary Islands for 2026.

So if you want to see him, that’s your window.

One night, not a full tour here

This isn’t one of those artists doing a few stops around the islands.

It’s one concert. One night.

Part of his “Corazones Legendarios” tour, which, as you’d expect, leans heavily on the classics… just with a bit of a refresh.

He’s been around long enough to have a proper catalogue behind him. Over 50 years in music, 20+ albums… so there’s no shortage of material to pick from.

Not just about Loquillo

The festival itself runs over two days, 23rd and 24th October, down by the Palmetum in Santa Cruz.

And to be fair, the lineup’s not bad.

You’ve got La La Love You, Pignoise, Biznaga, Maika Makovski, Carlos Sadness… a decent mix of pop, rock and indie without it feeling all over the place.

They’re also teasing another act to be announced, which usually means they’re trying to keep a bit of momentum going with ticket sales.

Standard, but it works.

More than just standing in a field

They’re setting it up as more of an “experience” than just a gig.

Food trucks, chill-out areas, the usual effort towards sustainability and accessibility… all the things festivals are expected to say these days.

Whether you use any of that is another story, but it’s there if you want it.

Worth going?

If you’re into Loquillo, it’s an easy yes.

He doesn’t come over often, and with this being the only Canary Islands date, it’s not like you can just catch him somewhere else nearby.

Even if you’re not that fussed, the lineup overall makes it worth a look… especially if you fancy a couple of days out in Santa Cruz with something going on.

Just don’t leave it too late if tickets start shifting.
