The La Laguna Carnival is back.
27th and 28th of February and 1st of March. Get it in the diary.
If you’ve never experienced carnival in Tenerife properly, this is your nudge. It’s loud, colourful, slightly chaotic and very Spanish in the best possible way.
This year it’s dedicated to the sea.
Think fish, pirates, coral, sailors, the lot. Masks everywhere. Costumes that have clearly taken months to make. And a few that were clearly thrown together that afternoon… which is half the fun.
La Laguna does it well. Proper atmosphere. Proper streets. None of that “stand and watch” feeling. You’re in it whether you planned to be or not.
If you live here, go.
If you’re visiting, definitely go.
And if you’re the sort who says, “I’m not really into dressing up”… you’ll probably end up wearing something by 10pm.
Full programme coming soon.
