Animal shelters rarely get the attention they deserve until they’re in trouble.
That’s partly why ADEPAC, the Association for the Defence and Protection of Animals in the Canary Islands, is organising a charity festival this March in El Sauzal.
The event takes place on 20th March at 8pm in Teatro El Sauzal and aims to raise funds to help keep their shelter running.
ADEPAC was founded back in 1989 by a small group of people who simply couldn’t ignore the problem of abandoned animals in Tenerife. Since then, they’ve rescued thousands of animals across the island.
Today the organisation cares for more than 300 animals at their shelter in Ravelo (El Sauzal).
However, the future of the refuge has become uncertain following the end of its administrative concession, which means the association is now working hard to raise funds to continue protecting and caring for these animals.
The charity festival will feature performances from:
- La Banda Ambulante
- Tiara Hernández
- Adrián Rosales
- Swing Dance performances
Events like this are often the lifeline that keeps shelters going, so if you enjoy live music and want to support a good cause, it could be a worthwhile evening out.
